In class, we had a syllabus scavenger hunt. This was information that was posted around the room. I had a parent ask for this information after a student threw away their syllabus. So, I decided to share it in case any other parents were interested in reading it.
- My school email address is [email protected]. I can be contacted through my email at any time. If you wish to have a meeting or set up a time to have a phone conversation, please email me to set up the appointment.
- Cheating, copying, or plagiarizing will automatically result in a zero on the assignment for all given parties and an email sent to your parent/guardian.
- Late work is ALWAYS accepted, however, all late assignments will result in a 10% penalty.
- Every assignment should have your first and last name as well as the date each time a new assignment is turned in. Forgetting to write the name and date will result in a 10% penalty. There are highlighters next to the turn-in baskets which you should use to highlight your name on every assignment. As well as a date stamp next to the baskets.
- Bell ringers are worth 10% of your total grade. You must complete them every day at the beginning of class and keep track of your bell ringer sheet for the week. They are due every Friday. Each bell ringer is worth 10 points. 5 points for attempting to solve them and 5 points for correctness.
- Homework is worth 10% of your grade. Each assignment is worth 10 points. Grading styles will vary.
- Quizzes are worth 30% of your grade.
- Tests are worth 50% of your grade.
- POWs or Problems of the Week are a weekly chance to get extra credit. They will vary in time and difficulty. Each POW is due Friday by 3PM and they are worth 5 homework points (HALF of one homework grade!!!!).
- You should bring a writing utensil (blue or black pen/pencil), your workbook, Chromebook, and your calculator to class every day. Calculators are not always required, but you should note that I have a limited amount to lend out.
- If you are absent, the only way to get full credit on your bell ringer is to write ‘absent’ or ‘missing’ in the space of the day you missed. Please note that I take attendance daily and know if you are absent or just forgot to do your bell ringer.
- You can find any missed assignments on my webpage, you can ask me or a fellow peer, as well as check on the white board which has the assignments posted.
- You may use electronic devices when instructed or when given permission. Sometimes (and only when directed) when you are given class time to work on assignments I will allow students to listen to their own music. This is only if you have headphones and it is at an appropriate volume. However, this is a reward for good behavior and students will not be allowed to listen to music if they are not working in class.
- I will first remind students with a warning. Any electronic devices used without my permission be confiscated until the end of the class if caught a second time. If caught a third time, it will be turned into the office. Also, please remember to silence your phones!
- I have a calculator and pencil loan policy. If you wish to borrow either you must trade me something in return. I will keep your item in my desk until you return the item you borrowed. You can trade in items such as cell phones, car keys, wallets, bracelets, headphones, etc.
